The voice within
-Marry Hazarika
Where are those daysWhen smile meant happiness and not a mask to a sad face.
When crying expressed sadness and not fakeness for benefits...
When people were what we thought them to be.
Sweet and simple.
Caring and warm.
Where are those days when words said were words meant.
When people loved more and had less to pretend.
Has everything changed because I have grown up.
Or was it just an illusion
And now reality hits hard
The streets now are full of people with sad tales
And gloomy faces.
Life so unmercifully turned to a race
Where top is the place to be and living is never a case.
Where you do not live, you run.
You fall, you stand and then run again.
Everything on your own,
No one gives a damn.
Parents push, friends pull.
Your inner voices screaming, shouting at you
Coz you left them unheard
But how would you hear? You can't.
Coz you're scared
You're scared of them coz they don't understand.
They say they do but they don't.
They never
They freaking don't.
Your brain, your heart
Tangling you, tearing you apart.
Keepin you wondering
What the hell are you doing on this earth!
The day starts and ends
Less time in hands
You are called an introvert.
Parents disappointed,
You don't call relatives,
Less to find in get togethers and gatherings.
You are inconsiderate, you are selfish!
And you are shouting from inside..
"Trust me, I am not what you think
I am trying to fit in.. I am trying! "
