The Begger :: Twilight Of Poem

THE BEGGAR

- Abja Jyoti Sarma

His eyes are finely carved,
Into a dark cave with hidden stories,
Matt for a century that has passed

The wrinkles are like the deepest canyons,
Where once water flowed,
Now dry and lifeless,
With no hope of greenery

Ears as broken records,
The tracks of fine lather shoes,
The Haunting growling stomach,
A hopefull faint whisper of a better life,
That repeats itself over.

Hairs like the creepiest climbers,
Hoding each other the hardest,
And promising not to leave,
Like everyone did.

But he is so bleesed with honesty,
A life depriving complain and fear

Lost somewhere the feeling of -
love, affection , compassion, joy.

Long forgotten the regrets of -
Guilts, anger and loss.
