Milik: When did you start writing
Stories/Fictions? Do you remember
the first time you wrote something?
What was the source of your
inspiration earlier? Did it change
with the time?

Jasveer: My father always
encouraged us to write. May be not
regularly but I have always
maintained a diary & this diary came
handy for my first book Version One
and a Half. I was going through a
phase in life where everything
seemed uncertain & this was
affecting others as well. Writing
turned out to be a stress buster
during this time & I started writing
regularly & by the time I realised I
had already written 50,000 words
about my childhood in a small town
in the ‘80s. This is when the idea of
my first book was born. Using my
childhood memories as an anchor I
created a self-help book. Writing
about my childhood not only helped
me get over the troubled times but
also motivated me to write more &
there has been no looking back since
then.

Milik: What do you think makes a
good story?

Jasveer: Everybody has a story to
tell, Savi Sharma. To me any story is
a good story as long as it is shared.
Without sharing a story remains a
thought in our brain. All stories are
worth listening to, worth reading.

Milik: Where do you get your
ideas?

Jasveer: I get my ideas from my
everyday situations. Metro has beengreat source of ideas for me. In
fact my forth book is an ode to Delhi
Metro.

Milik: Which author have inspired
you the most? Do you feel yourself
ever influenced by the writing style
of any author?

Jasveer: I will always be based
towards Chetan Bhagat because it
was his book One Indian Girl, which
I had finished. I was never an avid
reader before I began writing myself
& it was his book that changed my perspective about writing. It was ths bookwhich motivated me to publish my first book.

Milik: How often do you write? People say  writings needs time; best words come out in
leisure. How do you manage your time to
write and work?

Jasveer: Absolutely, writing
depends upon my instinct, mood &
surrounding so writing as process is
very erratic in my case. On a given
day I might write 5000 words and
there might be days when I don’t
write anything at all. You have to be
quite patient because writing can
take months or years in many cases.

Milik: How many books do you have authored? Tell something about them.

Jasveer: I have authored 4 books till
date: His first book ‘VERSION
ONE AND A HALF (VERSION 1
½)’, was published in Sept 2018.
This was a self-help book. This book
was his attempt to use childhood
memories from ‘80s for solving
problems in the present. It was
written like a self-help book. His
second book, a mix of non-fiction & fiction, ‘DIARY FROM HEAVEN’, was published in Jan 2019. He used stories from his own college life and initial days in corporate for this book. This book
was well received because of its
surreal portrayal of effects of drug addiction on the youth. His first fully fiction work, DOUBLE ONE ZERO (110) – OUT
OF THE SHADOWS’, a thriller, was published on 16th Jan, 2020. This was a thriller about a man looking for his identity which takes him to France. His forth and shortest work, ‘The Metro-Maniac
Chronicles’, was published on 9th
April, 2020 during the lockdown in
India due to Novel Corona Virus
outbreak. The book describesvarious kinds’ of travellers in Delhi metro with a touch of humour and their mirror kinds in a typical work place. He’s an avid observer of his
surroundings and uses characters and instances from his everyday situations for his stories.

Milik: What are the nuisance you
encountered during the Promotion of
book?

Jasveer: Book promotion is quite
challenging because of the number
of books being published these days.
There is an all round struggle to gain
the reader’s attention these days &
it’s very hard to create that perfect
ad campaign that makes your book
stand apart. But a continuous
campaign does work & the biggest
challenge is to find a dedicated
person who can promote your work
over a long time effectively.

Milik: Please let the readers know
about your projects for future? Are
your working on any book? And
please share any stanza from your
upcoming book.

Jasveer: Currently I am working on
a biography of a cancer survivor
which will be out by the end of May
2020 or June first week & then I am
also working on part 2 of Double
One Zero & Diary from Heaven.

Milik:What is your message to the
young authors who are willing to
explore the new dimensions of
creative writing?

Jasveer: Don’t give up on writing,
have patience & keep on going.
Also, don’t expect gains in short term.

Milik: What do you want to say to
your readers/fans about “Twilight Of
Poem”?

Jasveer: This is an excellent
platform for promotion of poetry &
writing in general. They are doing
an excellent job in promoting all
forms of writing.
