Maa, I have a few things to tell you

But don't think that I do not love you

Maa, have you seen them call me insane when I went on to rescue the kitten

But, when I go on draped in the gorgeous saree, have you seen them smitten?

Maa, look how they pull me down when I follow my dreams 

But, they'll be the ones who'll admire me when I conquer the realms

Maa, look how they stare at me when I come home at night

But, you know I'm grown up now, I can differentiate wrong from the right

Maa, see I do not judge so I have male friends too

But see how they give me looks, se what they do

Maa, see how they say I'm tender and that I'm good enough for nothing

But, they're are the ones who'll say I'm an exception when I really achieve something

Maa, that little girl was raped and you told me to keep myself safe

But, why don't they clean their minds.. are they so naive?

Maa, how they told me to dress properly otherwise I'll be called by names

But that day when that boy touched me .. was i to be blamed

Maa, don't ask me to be silent when they judge me

Or else , with their evil minds, will they smudge me.

Maa, I've a few questions to ask you

But that doesn't mean that I donot love you..
