Maa..where has your smile gone? I ask this sometimes but get no reply back..

Maa, an epitome of sacrifice and love.. Maybe, that is why  she is placed next to God, the living Goddess who has made her home as her world ! In despair, I reflect upon those words she had told.. " You have to prove yourself. Even though you are a girl, you have to be strong. You have to grow ! " And in making me strong, in helping me grow, she lost herself somewhere in the swarm of people. Giving this and that, she lost everything she had, because she had given away everything she had..

Those long nights when you didn't sleep, when you sacrificed your own sleep over ours, I still remember them. The visions are still vivid, though I do not know the exact number of days or the exact number of years you sacrificed , you see.. But that would not matter to your son when he would throw you in the streets or to your daughter who would ignore you saying she has family issues to look after and you would look back at time when you sacrificed all your own issues for them ! And that son and daughter of yours would understand your pain when they would become parents themselves , but , maa, that would be too late ! You , maa, would already have suffered enough pain to last a lifetime ! Maa , were you to be blamed for that? For losing your own identity for others, for embracing what they say as truth .. Maa, were you to be blamed?

And, when I see in the news, a maa has been thrown out of the house, I think of these questions over and over again .. But there are a few questions which have been corroding my mind..
